Adam Adler

Founder and Managing Partner of The Adler Fund

Adam Adler has spent more than 20 years building a career spanning entrepreneurship, investing, and long-term business development. Based in Charleston, he leads The Adler Fund, a private equity group with interests in sustainable real estate, technology, and early-stage ventures. His path has been shaped by steady discipline, hands-on involvement, and a commitment to building companies that last.

Early Foundation in Athletics

Adam’s introduction to hard work came long before his first business venture. He grew up training intensively at the Rick Macci Tennis Academy in South Florida, an environment that required constant focus and resilience. Tennis taught him structure and the value of improving through daily effort, lessons that would carry into every chapter of his professional life.

His dedication earned him a scholarship to the University of South Carolina, where he played tennis while pursuing a double major in Sports & Entertainment Management and Business. He graduated with honors in 2007. During these years, Adam also had his first experiences in entrepreneurship, becoming involved in tech-driven community platforms that would shape his understanding of digital engagement.

Early Tech Ventures

While still a student, Adam co-founded Ultimate Social Networking Inc., an early attempt at connecting communities online. He also launched Ultimate College Model, the first modeling network built entirely in a digital format. These projects gave him a practical introduction to product development, user behavior, and managing teams. They also helped him gain confidence working in fast-paced environments, which prepared him for the challenges that followed.

Biotech Innovation and Leadership

After college, Adam began working at the intersection of sports performance and science. He assembled a group of molecular scientists, including several former biochemists from Merck and Amgen, to create Fuse Science. The company established itself in a 30k sq. ft. FDA- and cGMP-certified facility in Oxnard, California, which served as its headquarters and laboratory space.

In his role as CEO, Adam led the development of a nutrient delivery system using sublingual, buccal, and transdermal absorption. The goal was to bypass the digestive tract and enable faster nutrient uptake than with traditional capsule formats.

Adam personally funded the company in its early stages, secured intellectual property rights, and built a senior leadership team that included executives from Fortune 25 companies. He also leveraged sports partnerships to bring the product to broader audiences, working with athletes including Tiger Woods, Andy Murray, David Ortiz, Jose Bautista, Tyson Chandler, Paul Pierce, Andre Ward, and Paul Rodriguez. Daymond John from Shark Tank also joined, helping expand the brand’s reach. Over time, he helped increase Fuse’s valuation from about $500k to more than $100M.

A Measured Approach to High-Stakes Risk

Beyond business, Adam developed a reputation in the poker world. He has final tabled multiple World Series of Poker events and achieved consistent results in major World Poker Tour tournaments. In 2022, he earned a seat at the televised final table of the WPT Championship, one of the most demanding events on the poker calendar.

He has also excelled in high-stakes cash games worldwide. The skills he uses in poker, evaluating risk, responding to uncertainty, and making decisions in real time, mirror the approach he brings to investing. For Adam, both environments require patience, discipline, and the ability to stay composed under pressure.

Building The Adler Fund

The Adler Fund represents Adam’s interest in real estate, technology, and innovation. Based in Charleston, the firm focuses on strategic investments that combine disciplined analysis with entrepreneurial agility. He remains the Managing Partner and continues to personally shape the investment strategy.

In real estate, he focuses on sustainable development across the Lowcountry, emphasizing long-term environmental outcomes, thoughtful design, and community benefit. In technology, the firm supports founders who aim to solve meaningful problems across biotech, cybersecurity, and education.

A recent example is Wyzly, a learn-to-earn app that gives children screen time in exchange for completing educational challenges. The original idea came from Adam’s 7-year-old daughter, Isla. For him, Wyzly is more than a startup investment; it reflects his interest in improving how families and children interact with technology.

Committed, Hands-On Leadership

Adam stays closely involved with the businesses he invests in. His style is informed by his background as both an operator and an athlete. He helps guide real estate developments, supports leadership teams, and works alongside early-stage founders navigating growth challenges.

He often describes the Adler Fund’s focus as investing in “passion projects,” rather than chasing trends. His goal is to help shape how buildings are designed, how technology evolves, and how teams build products that matter.

Personal Motivation

Adam credits much of his drive to his upbringing. Growing up around a father who was a highly successful day trader, he saw early how discipline and consistency can influence results. That environment taught him that setbacks are often more defining than wins, and that strong outcomes rely on teams that share expectations and values.

Looking Forward

Today, Adam continues to expand The Adler Fund’s real estate portfolio, strengthen partnerships with emerging AI companies, and support ventures that combine purpose with practical execution. His work remains rooted in the belief that thoughtful investment can create lasting value.
